Rebecca Vinton, M.A., President & CEO
Rebecca Vinton, M.A. is the President and CEO of WELLCOM, formerly called the Wellness Council of the Midlands. Rebecca joined WELLCOM in 1996 as the Associate Director and was promoted to her current role in 2011. WELLCOM's mission is to, "Partner with employers to deliver programs that impact employee wellbeing and wellness, strengthen the culture and drive business results". WELLCOM currently serves over 200 businesses throughout Nebraska and Iowa. In addition to her role as CEO, Rebecca serves on various boards and task forces dedicated to building healthy communities including Live Well Omaha. She has also been an instructor at UNO in the area of Stress Management in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and is a frequent guest lecturer and speaker on topics concerning workforce health, healthy living, worksite wellness and stress management. Rebecca was awarded the Hollie Bethel Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Education in 2011, is a graduate of Leadership Omaha Class 31, and a graduate of the Nonprofit Executive Institute Class 8. Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of South Dakota and a Master of Arts degree in Health Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her two children, Austin, age 14 and Elyse, age 12 and their two cocker spaniels, Sharlie and Oliver.
Theresa Nelson, M.A., Vice President
Theresa Nelson, M.A. is an alumnus of University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has a diverse background working in worksite wellness. She was a Health Promotion Director for the Department of Defense overseeing and consulting for 16 Air Force bases’ wellness programs. She was involved with local community wellness initiatives while she was the Executive Director at Sarpy Cass Department of Health. Theresa was sought out by a government contracting company to manage a nationwide contract placing health promotion staff across the United States in each of the Health and Wellness Centers of the Air Force. During her career, she also was an adjunct faculty member for UNO’s Health, Physical Education and Recreation department. The last several years, Theresa has spent time working as a Director of Human Resources and Learning Development which brings a new interesting perspective to the wellness field. She has been involved with WELLCOM and a strong advocate for the organization for her professional career and is so excited that now she is a part of the team.
Justin Holes, M.S., Member Services Coordinator / Grant Manager
Justin Holes earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health and Master's Degree in Health Behavior from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO). Justin’s past experiences and involvements with multiple health organizations has allowed him to develop the skills to understand what strategies are most effective for workplaces of all shapes and sizes, and to directly assist organizations with specific workplace ideas and solutions based on each organizations’ individual needs. Justin also extends his passion for improving the health in the community by being a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor at the YMCA, part-time faculty for the College of Health & Kinesiology at UNO, and volunteering at numerous local health events.
Shane Warehime, M.S., Grant Coordinator
Shane Warehime is involved in projects related to worksite wellness policy development as well as efforts to improve walkability and nutrition in member organizations. Along with this position at WELLCOM, Shane is pursuing his PhD in Exercise Science at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Prior to this, Shane received a Bachelor’s degree in Fitness Management from Wartburg College and a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from Wayne State College. Shane is from Gowrie, Iowa and enjoys running, cycling, hiking, and camping.
Kerry Juhl, B.S., Senior Business Consultant
Kerry Juhl is a certified health coach and an innovator and leader in worksite health promotion with more than 20 years in the industry. As owner of Inspired Health Consulting and Coaching, Kerry consults with companies of all sizes and brings innovative solutions to their onsite health promotion needs. Kerry has an intimate knowledge of health promotion design. Her years of experience working with the business community to design and deliver innovative and results-oriented wellness solutions have helped her to build a keen eye for what will work in any given worksite environment. In addition to worksite solutions, Inspired Health provides individual coaching utilizing Take Shape for Life, an entirely new approach to wellbeing, based on creating optimal health, not reacting to illness
Kelly Parr, M.S., Consultant and Proposal Manager
Kelly works as a consultant for WELLCOM. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and a Master’s of Science in Nutritional Science. She worked for 20 years at First National Bank in Benefits and Wellness. She created, implemented, maintained, and continually improved an award winning health and wellness program and was able to show a positive ROI on the wellness investment made with regard to lower health claims of participants versus non-participants. She integrated wellness benefits into the comprehensive health benefits package and managed work/life integration initiatives including on-site child care, flexible scheduling, on-site fitness, and back-up dependent care.
