Theresa Nelson, President and CEO
Theresa Nelson, M.A. is the President and CEO of WELLCOM, appointed to the role in January of 2018 following her position as the Vice President of Operations and Member Services since June of 2016 when she joined the organization. Theresa is an alumnus of University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) with a diverse background in worksite wellness and human resources. Early in her career, she was the Health Promotion Director for the Department of Defense overseeing and consulting for 16 Air Force bases’ wellness programs in Air Combat Command. Offutt Air Force Base, where she presided, was a member of WELLCOM and Theresa was the member delegate at that time. She then served as the Executive Director for Sarpy Cass Department of Health providing oversite to the local public health and community initiatives throughout the two counties. Theresa was sought out by a government contracting company to manage a nationwide contract placing health promotion staff across the United States in each of the Health and Wellness Centers of the Air Force. The work expanded to contract and personnel management of multiple contracts in all branches of the service which included medical and referral management nursing, and marriage and family therapy. Prior to joining the WELLCOM staff, Theresa spent several years working as a Director of Human Resources at two separate large nonprofit organizations. Currently, Theresa is Special Faculty, Professor of Practice for Creighton University’s Department of Interdisciplinary Studies teaching a course in Research Methods and Program Design. She also has been adjunct faculty for UNO’s Health, Physical Education and Recreation department for various times over the years. She has been involved with WELLCOM and a strong advocate for the organization throughout her professional career.

Tonya Vyhlidal, Workplace Culture and Wellbeing Director
Tonya is most known for her success at Lincoln Industries where she led the organizations health, wellness, and safety functions landing the company with several premier awards including the prestigious C. Everett Koop award. After leaving Lincoln Industries she went to the Nebraska Safety Council serving as the Director of WorkWell. While at WorkWell she helped merge WorkWell with the Nebraska Safety Council, increased membership, developed WorkWell services a new arm of WorkWell, administered the Governor’s Wellness Award, and provided strategic consulting. Most recently Tonya has been working as a full-time independent consultant developing wellbeing strategies for a variety of organizations across the state of Nebraska and throughout the Midwest.
Tonya is dedicated to helping organizations thrive using wellbeing strategies. Speaking engagements include presentations at various private events, the Art and Science of Health Promotion conference, HERO, SHRM, and National Business Group on Health conferences. Tonya also serves on the faculty of Concordia University as an adjunct instructor in the Health and Human Performance Department.
Tonya received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and her Master of Education in Sport Pedagogy from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She is very passionate about helping others achieve personal and professional excellence, Yoga, and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Megan Johnson, Grant Coordinator
Megan Johnson is an Omaha native who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After working in various roles including social worker, special events coordinator, wellness outreach coordinator, and photographer, Megan returned to academics to pursue a career in the health and wellness industry. She is currently attending the University of Nebraska Omaha for a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, with a concentration in Physical Activity and Health Promotion. She enjoys working as a teaching assistant for the School of Health and Kinesiology. Megan is passionate about promoting wellness in all areas of life, through integration of social, environmental, and occupational interventions. Megan loves travel, social justice advocacy, outdoor activities, and time with her family.

Kerry Juhl, Senior Business Consultant
Kerry Juhl is a certified health coach and an innovator and leader in worksite health promotion with more than 20 years in the industry. As owner of Inspired Health Consulting and Coaching, Kerry consults with companies of all sizes and brings innovative solutions to their onsite health promotion needs. Kerry has an intimate knowledge of health promotion design. Her years of experience working with the business community to design and deliver innovative and results-oriented wellness solutions have helped her to build a keen eye for what will work in any given worksite environment. In addition to worksite solutions, Inspired Health provides individual coaching utilizing Take Shape for Life, an entirely new approach to wellbeing, based on creating optimal health, not reacting to illness

Kelly Parr, Consultant
Kelly works as a consultant for WELLCOM. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and a Master’s of Science in Nutritional Science. She worked for 20 years at First National Bank in Benefits and Wellness. She created, implemented, maintained, and continually improved an award winning health and wellness program and was able to show a positive ROI on the wellness investment made with regard to lower health claims of participants versus non-participants. She integrated wellness benefits into the comprehensive health benefits package and managed work/life integration initiatives including on-site child care, flexible scheduling, on-site fitness, and back-up dependent care.
